An adult has checked that the water supply works and animals can reach it.The adult has looked for feed, leaves, manure, leaks, and changes in color or smell.Another clean water supply is ready if a trough needs cleaning.

Stop and check

Keep people and stock out of suspect water. Ask your vet or county farm advice office about testing.

Tell an adult about an empty or dirty trough. Never guess a cleaning chemical dose.
